Making Your Will with Berwins

You owe it to your loved ones to ensure that on your death your assets are dealt with in accordance with your wishes and in the most tax efficient manner possible having regard to those wishes.

In order for us to advise you effectively we look at the nature of the assets which you hold, your family circumstances and your aspirations. This enables us to provide a bespoke service whereby utilising our experience and expertise we will be able to offer tax efficient and effective solutions.

Where appropriate we will also offer advice with regard to the following:-

a)            Inheritance Tax mitigation – both through your Will and, where appropriate, lifetime giving.

b)            Use of Trusts – how to deal with the issue of children and stepchildren.

c)            The most effective way of dealing with pension death benefits and death in service benefits.

d)            Writing of life policies in trust to mitigate inheritance tax.

In the majority of cases a clear policy will be formulated at the end of our first meeting which will enable us to submit a draft of your proposed Will and any ancillary documentation to you within 48 hours of that meeting. Invariably at the first meeting an appointment will be arranged for you to call at the office to execute the Will. In the majority of cases Wills are executed within two weeks of the initial instruction.
