I am Paul Berwin, Head of Commercial Law at Berwins.   We have a particular strength in IT Intellectual Property Law, and have repeatedly been recommended for our work in this area in Legal 500 and Chambers Directories. Where we are particularly strong is in giving not just expert, but very commercial, proactive advice to small and medium sized software vendors which enable them to punch above their weight in licensing their products to larger customers.  We have successfully handled negotiations with (in particular) UK, US and Australian banks and other financial institutions, solicitors, accountants and government bodies, and over many years have built up a knowledge bank of experience of the relevant parameters.

 

We have as our customers companies based throughout the UK, and in Finland, Australia and Israel.

 

As well dealing with Software Licensing in its many forms, we also advise on the development of licensing, funding and delivery models for installed software, software delivered as a service, and reseller arrangements.  We understand the various aspects of Intellectual Property which go into software, website development and out-sourcing arrangements.  Our aim, by being “No Ordinary Lawyers”, is to ensure that our clients are extraordinary businesses.
